Tata Communications: Now a Google Cloud India Partner


On 16th February, Tata Communications joined hands with Google Cloud for the purpose to drive cloud adoption among businesses in India. This partnership is set to give companies access to end-to-end services including cloud architecture planning and workload migration, but most of all, this announcement led Tata Communications’ shares to rise 6% on BSE.

The company said the deal expanded its managed public cloud services portfolio in a way so as to include the capabilities of Google Cloud. This move by Tata Communications clearly enables organizations to deploy and access Google Cloud Services through Tata Communications’ IZO Managed Cloud platform where companies access end-to-end services.

Cloud Demand on the Rise
According to Tata Communications, with the current global scenario where a lot of technology firms have been witnessing a rise in the demand for cloud computing services, there is a wider recognition for business resilience and agility. This is something that the cloud helps us enable. The company also said that they analyzed that most businesses are now beginning to explore a cloud-first model going forward.

Following the pathway, Tata Communications took the opportunity and became a Google Cloud India partner who will now be relied on for supporting organizations with services like infrastructure modernization, data center transformation, application modernization, and smart analytics.

Reasons Why Cloud is Becoming so Important
With Tata Communications leading their way through this new partnership, Rajesh Awasthi, global head of cloud and managed hosting services at Tata Communications said, “The current demands on enterprises to manage and optimize their cloud solutions has never been more important, especially in the wake of Covid-19 and our increasing reliance on cloud infrastructure.”

He also added that as organizations migrated to Google Cloud, they’d need a partner to support them across their entire IT ecosystem and deliver a unified cloud management platform that offers greater transparency, control, and security of their data and applications.
